A Final Farewell...

Dear House,

Thank you for allowing us to live with you these past few years. We know you won't mind if we shed some tears--it's not easy to say good-bye. We have gotten to know each other well. We remember the first day that we saw you and how we fell in love with you--years later, we love you even more.

We hope that you won't mind the few bumps and scratches we left behind. Each of us left our own unique marks throughout the years.

We have so many memories with you. We won't share them now--we will just keep them close to our hearts. As we walk through the rooms and out the door for the last time, we wish you well in the years to come. We hope that the new owners will love you as we have. Perhaps one day we will see you again...perhaps one day it won't hurt as much. We won't forget you...

Lookin' High, Looking Low...

Aliya could not have been happier to help me "look" to make sure I had gotten everything out of the cabinets. This is one chore that I did not have to beg for help with. It didn't take long before more "help" came to join the fun...

This was definately a once-in-a-lifetime treat! What would I do without all my good help!

Memories of Days Gone By...

We never took pictures of the house before we moved in--nor did we take pictures of moving in the house. It is strange to see the house beginning to be empty again because this is how it looked when we moved in. It's a strange memories-in-reverse feeling.

This is the cleanest I have since the girls' room since we moved in 3 1/2 years ago. Many memories in these rooms. I remember one time not long after we had moved in and my parents came to visit, Aliya had a dirty diaper that she wanted to take off by herself. That wasn't so bad until she decided to spread it all around the floor in the middle of her room. I never thought I would get it cleaned up, but I did.

I still have to sort through all the stuff that was in our dressers or nightstands. Our room looks so big after getting all the furniture out. I remember the first time I vacuumed the bedroom before we put anything in there. I thought to myself "Wow! This is a lot of carpet!" Of course, with all the furniture in there, you only have to vacuum the walkways.

The girls made a camp out in the living room to watch a movie before going to bed. They could camp out any where and be just fine.

This is the last major room I have to sort through, and it is MAJOR! This is the room that I have to make sure and remember where I put everything because I use this stuff often.

That about wraps up our progress for now. We still have a lot of work ahead of us, but we are getting it done little by little.

Dora! Dora! Dora!

Kiahna loves to watch Dora, and she gets really excited anytime she sees anything that has the Dora theme on it. Sometimes she sings and dances to the music--other times she just "chills" in front of the TV. This is one of those chillin' moments.

The Plane! The Plane!

We went to the air show at Tinker Air Force Base today. The kids (TJ, too!) loved the planes--especially the planes who did tricks while in the air. We watched parachutes jump from the sky and land on the flight line.

We spent a lot of time in the hangers "out of the hot sun". They had the NASA space shuttle displays inside. Aliya loved the moon rock. There where all sort of space models and displays to look at. It was all VERY interesting!

Here's our space cadets! Some days I feel like joining the space program, too!

When I first saw the four-wheelers and bikes, I thought "now why would these be at an AIR show?" Then I remembered. . . where there are planes, there are guys--where there are guys, there are bikes.

It didn't take long before everyone was getting hot and thirsty. What better way to cool down than to have a icy popsicle? After they finished eating their popsicles, they were all sticky. What better way to wash up than to be hosed down with water from the water hose stations?!

We were all hot, tired, and thirsty when we left. After getting a bite to eat, TJ went with Niah and Aliya back to the base to watch the fireworks show. Kiahna and I went home to go to bed. All in all, it was a fun family day!
