Today was the first day of swimming lessons for the girls. They each had their own teacher, and they each learned new things. Niah is learning how to do some specific swimming strokes and diving techniques. Aliya is learning how to swim with her head underwater AND without holding her nose. Kiahna...well, she can tell you better than I can!!!
Isaiah was tired and ready to lay down for his morning nap...but we were getting ready to leave for the day to run errands. Niah was keeping him "occupied" until it was time to go. They were listening to his music from his caterpillar toy and just chill'n. If I'd of given him a few more minutes, he would have fell asleep.
I was looking through our video folders today and came across these 2 videos of Kiahna when she was 11 months old. I hope you will enjoy taking a glimpse backwards as much as I did! In the first video, Kiahna was sneaking into Aliya's goodie bag and purse that Aliya had left in the laundry room. Even though Kiahna was little, she already knew that she wasn't supposed to be getting into it. That's why she was having so much fun!!!
Aliya was almost 4 years old, and Niah was 9 1/2 yrs old. Three years doesn't seem like a long time in REGULAR time--but in KID time, it's a lot!!!
Yesterday, TJ took the girls swimming in the pool. I brought Isaiah out after he woke up from his nap. This was his first time in the pool. He may not have been too sure of it, but if he is anything like his sisters, it won't be long before he will be swimming all over the place!
More often than not, Isaiah's hair is styled in a "unique" fashion. It doesn't matter how we comb it originally, it always ends up looking like some sort of messed up faux-hawk. We weren't sure as to how that was happening, but now we know...
TJ was given some VIP passes for the Drag Boat Racing Nationals Event this weekend. We weren't able to go Friday or Saturday, so we went today. I personally am not into boat races, BUT I have discovered that I am into VIP!
The first VIP tent that we came across had all you can eat pizza, salad, drinks, snacks, dessert, etc. We stopped there first to fill up. The shade was nice. Most of the people there were sitting out in the sun to watch the races. I preferred the shade.
After being pampered at this tent, we walked past all the expensive concession stands and all the hot people baking in the sun. We arrived at the next VIP tent. We had an awesome view of the race. It really couldn't have been any better--other than adding air conditioning! The noise from the boats were a little loud at times for Isaiah. The small boats didn't make too much noise, but the big boats did. When the big boats where racing, the kids and I went to play in the blow-up bouncies they had FOR FREE!!!
TJ had a great time at the races, but the girls and I discovered that we LIKED the races, but we LOVED the VIP treatment! Now, if I could just be VIP all the time....
