The Big Sleep Treat

Last night Aliya had her first official sleepover at her cousin Taya's house. She has been anxiously awaiting this day for over a year now. She probably would not have been interested in sleepovers except that she has watched Niah spend the night with her friend several times--therefore Aliya thinks it must be very special.

Before I left, Aliya had to have lots of kisses from all of us--Kiahna especially made sure that she had enough kisses to last the night.

I am not sure exactly what they expected (both the girls were very excited), but they soon were disappointed to find out that a sleepover means YOU STILL HAVE TO GO TO BED!!! Betsy said they fussed and cried for about 30 minutes before finally settling in for the night.

I picked her up this morning, and she was as happy as could be...except she did tell me that Aunt Betsy woke her up VERY early. It was actually only 0800 AM, but to Aliya, that is EARLY!!!

A few hours before the big sleepover, Aliya told me that she would miss me (us) very much, but that if we just looked at the moon and looked at the sun, then she would look at the moon and look at the sun, and it would all be okay. My heart smiled very big. You never know--she could one day be writing heart-warming greetings on Hallmark cards!

My Point of View

When I wake up in the morning, I look out my window and this is what I see...

Several time during the day, I glance out the window and this is what I see...

When the weather is cool, I open up the window and let the fresh air blow in. In the morning all I hear are the sounds of the "farm" (that's what Aliya calls it)--there's no train whistles, cars or semi's, planes, or people.

Kiahna's Earring Adventure

Kiahna turned 2 1/2 yrs old on Monday, April 14, 2008. Niah and Aliya also had their ears pierced at this age. We had been asking Kiahna if she wanted earrings, and of course she said "SURE!" Had she known what all was involved, she probably would have said, "NOOOOO!"

It didn't take her long to realize that this was no longer a fun adventure. She cried for about 5 minutes, and then it was all better.

After we got her ears pierced, we had her pictures taken. Kiahna is not a baby anymore. She is a big girl now, and she knows she is a princess!
