Little Swimmer

Today we went to the Kaufman's house for another swim.  They recently installed a HUGE pool in their backyard.  The pool is absolutely fabulous...or SWEEEEEET as Kiahna would say.  For those of you who do not know anything about Karen, I thought I would list a few tidbits:

  • Karen and TJ have worked together at XPEDX for over 10 years
  • Karen gave each of the kids (except for Niah, of course) a gift when they were born, and that gift is in each of their treasure boxes
  • Karen is our most faithful blog reader (Aunt Jessica is our most faithful blog commenter!)
  • Karen's husband Gene is a good guy, who always finds himself getting in trouble with TJ--go figure! Well, they haven't actually done anything too bad...but they could...and so Karen and I don't let them hang out UNSUPERVISED very often!

This afternoon TJ had taken the kids over to go swimming while I waited for the bread to finish baking in the oven.  When I finally got over there, TJ said that Isaiah was swimming/diving under the water for toys.  We had to get his swimming on video--it's too cute!

The kids wanted to stay all night like we did on Friday, but we couldn't since some people have to work tomorrow. Hopefully, though, we can return again for another swim while the weather is still hot.  Thanks, Karen and Gene, for letting us swim in your awesome pool!

Swim Lessons

Yesterday we completed our 2-week swim lessons for this year. This was our 3rd year...at the same pool...AND with many of the SAME teachers. At this point, they think they own the pool!

After lessons, we celebrated by going over to the Kaufman's house for an all-night swimming party! According to Kiahna...it was the best day EVER.

Meet Gill and Aslan

We recently attended porcelain-bowl funerals for Moses and Todd. Sad. So sad. Tears were shed...and shed. Sad indeed. The tanks sat empty and alone. Then...we had a great idea. Why don't we get another fish? With renewed hope that life could now go on, the kids made the familiar trip to Petsmart.

Niah decided that she would let Kiahna use her tank so that Kiahna could have a fish of her own. Apparently, having your own fish is a Harris-Family-Right-of-Passage tradition. So, Kiahna returned with Gill...

...and Aliya returned with Aslan.

So for now, we have bubbles blowing in the tanks again, and smiles on the faces of the girls.  Live fish!  LIVE!!!
