Hotel, Birthday, Robin, and MORE!!!

We recently went spent several days (August 5-10) in Arkansas for a little mini-vacation. There were so many things that happened...it's hard to write it all down. Here are some of the highlights:

We were able to stay several nights at the Hyatt (Thanks, Lori!!!) with our Houston cousins--they also came up for a mini-vacation. It was a BLAST staying at the hotel. The kids were thrilled!

The REAL reason for the vacation was to attend Henry's FIRST birthday party! Since Isaiah and Henry are best buds, this was a must-do trip.

My sister Betsy and her family were babysitting 2 dogs during the time we were there. Isaiah thought it was great to play "dog" in the cage. He voluntarily locked himself inside. I guess since he is constantly surrounded by people who "love" on him, he had to find his own way to have ALONE time!

The most interesting event award goes to Poppy bringing home a robin. This bird landed on his shoulder while he was working outside, and the bird would not leave. He stayed with my dad...even riding home with him! It's almost been about 2 weeks now since we left Arkansas, and the last I heard the bird was still hanging around. The kids really enjoyed petting a REAL-LIVE bird!

When it was time for the fun to be over, it was hard saying good-bye to all the family--especially the "best friend" cousins. The kids are already party plans for the upcoming birthdays!!! That will give us something to look forward to!
